GREETINGS IN THE NAME OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST, THE GOOD SHEPHERD!

We want to say welcome to everyone, especially to our guests visiting the Big Bear Valley. We invite you to join us, as we worship, praise and glorify the name of the triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The words of the Psalmist, ā€œI was glad when they said to me, ā€˜Let us go to the house of the Lord!ā€™ā€ (Psalm 122:1)

Come and join us as we celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the Lutheran Reformation by Dr. Martin Luther this Sunday, October 29th, at 9:00 a.m. and a special reception hosted by the Anniversary Committee in the fellowship hall after the service at 10:30 a.m.

We are celebrating the posting of ā€œThe Ninety-Five Thesisā€ of Dr. Martin Luther on the door of the church in Wittenberg, Germany, on October 31, 1517, as he challenged the papal authority of Pope Leo X in promoting the sale of ā€œindulgencesā€ by Johann Tetzel to rebuild St. Peterā€™s Basilica in Rome.

We are also celebrating the tradition and beliefs in the historic Reformation by Dr. Martin Luther, as he stood before the Roman Emperor Charles V at the Diet of Worms in April of 1521, and said, ā€œI am bound by the Scriptures I have quoted and my conscience is captive to the Word of God. I cannot and I will not retract anything, since it is neither safe nor right to go against conscience. Here I stand; I cannot do otherwise. So help me God. Amen.ā€ (Lutherā€™s Works, 32:112-13)

We hope and pray that our worship and fellowship with you and your family will be meaningful and inspirational, as we celebrate together Godā€™s richest blessings and gifts to us through his servant Dr. Martin Luther, ā€œItā€™s Still All About Jesus!ā€

Yours, in Christā€™s service,

Rev. Dr. Elroi Reimnitz, Pastor
